(Mini) Autumn Leaf Bunting

Here's a little project I did this weekend - just in time for the first day of fall tomorrow!

I used paint chips, newsprint, and my Martha Stewart Maple Leaf Paper Punch.  Before punching the newsprint, I "glued' it to a piece of card stock with spray adhesive to make it stronger.  Each leaf is simply taped to a length of craft thread.  How easy is that??   I finished this project (with several interruptions) in under an hour.  If I had no interruptions, it could have been done in a minute and a half, give or take 90 seconds.  The moral of this story is always pick up paint chips when you're at WalMart or Lowes so that you'll have them on hand when the need to craft strikes you :)

One of the lovely things about blogging about this project was that it forced me to clear off the fireplace mantle to make you think that the surfaces of my home are beautifully clutter-free.  Did it work???

  3. First of all, beautiful mantel! Second, I will now intentionally go search for paint chips every trip to wall mart we ever take from now on. Great idea!

Like the old song says, "comments are a girl's best friend." Or something like that... So... leave a comment! I love chatting here! Pretend you're on my back porch, kick the broken plastic sandbox toys aside, sip your iced coffee, or beer, or (__fill in the blank with your beverage of choice__) and let's talk about all the things, because back-porch blogging is what I do!
