A Touch of Whimsy :: Crocheted Mini Bunting For My Kitchen

On a whim, I strung a mini crocheted bunting to the window over my kitchen sink this past weekend.  It's nothing elaborate.  It was a very simple project.  It's certainly nothing to write home about.  But since I pretty much never do any home decorating other than a Christmas tree in December, I thought it was significant enough to warrant a little blog post :)

I like it.  It cheers me.  I think I'll keep it up for a while.  At least until Christmas-tree time ;)

(Forgive me... it's harder than you think to take pictures of something hanging in front of a bright window...)

I used the crochet bunting pattern from Pink Milk, but used a 3.5mm hook, kept the triangles small, and strung them on the bias.

    1. Hm, not sure I'm ready to open up the shop again any time soon, but I'd love to make one for you! We'll chat next time we meet so I can get your color preferences =)

  2. Instead of being jealous of the window in your kitchen (my kitchen is window-less), I'll be excited that you did such a cute and clever little project! I've actually been thinking of doing something similar and seeing how wonderful yours worked out is inspiring. It's so cheerful and colorful and now I'm feeling encouraged to make one of my own. Thanks for sharing your lovely project. =)

  3. It's darling!!! I wish I had a kitchen window other than our huge sliding door. And listen, if you leave that up until and through Christmas, and every day forever, it will be perfect. I have been known to leave birthday decor up for, um, months. Because buntings. Always awesome.

    1. Thank you, Gina! (I could see something like this over a sliding door... come to think of it, maybe I'll work on that next here!)

Like the old song says, "comments are a girl's best friend." Or something like that... So... leave a comment! I love chatting here! Pretend you're on my back porch, kick the broken plastic sandbox toys aside, sip your iced coffee, or beer, or (__fill in the blank with your beverage of choice__) and let's talk about all the things, because back-porch blogging is what I do!
